Representative Accomplishments

Created collaboration for innovative ecosystem project, showcasing viable methods of protecting wildlife/enabling urban growth. For decades real estate developers and society, in general, have struggled with the issue of growth vs. protecting the environment. Collaborated with Project CAT to illustrate how to promote the project and use it as a model for projects throughout the country. Oversaw collaboration of researchers, academics, business leaders, and advisors, uniting multiple ecosystem stakeholders to devise a practical approach to combining environmental stewardship and the needs of a growing population.

Formulated strategic alliance with IUCN, enhancing business’ role in the realm of biodiversity conservation. IUCN, the World Conservation Union, is an established global network of scientists from 180 countries that is committed to maintain the diversity of nature. Played key role in connecting key US companies (i.e. Boeing, Mutual of Omaha, Starbucks, Oracle, H-P and Washington Mutual Bank) with IUCN in order to promote viable partnerships in tune with global conservation requirements as well as international business growth.

Initiated strategy for BGS, emphasizing service quality over shear volume to drive $80MM in annual sales. In the pre-2008 boom years, low rates and market mayhem were threatening BGS’ core business. Identified and developed unique market niche, positioning firm’s brokers as financial strategists/certified mortgage planners. Formed strategic collaborative alliances with financial and estate planners, attorneys and CPA’s. Employed a collaborative business model to boost referrals 400%. Incorporated industry Best Practices to increase client retention four-fold.

Initiated innovative teaching module for Commerce One, enabling diverse grouping of sales engineers to function cohesively as a single unit. IT company had quickly jumped from under $50MM to several hundred million dollars, and the dramatic increase in global engineering personnel made critical collaboration very difficult. Devised detailed proposal based upon team building in an isolated geographic environment. Created innovative “game” called Pursuit set in a wildlife preserve focused on identifying clues and tracking wildlife with the aid of wildlife biologists. Quickly developed cooperative concept among diverse, multi-lingual engineering personnel to teach them about nature and in so doing, fostered strong sense of community for the team; the exercise became a metaphor which engaged employees and communicated the importance of their individual contributions.

Revamped Pacific Rim strategy for Pivotal Strategies client, Raychem, fostering 30% regional sales boost. Asia sales channels were marginally productive and Raychem was rapidly losing its regional competitive edge. Recruited to fix the problem, performed comprehensive audit of Indian and Indonesian operations, closely examining internal plans, strategic partnerships and banking relationships. Utilized trade finance options to enable contracts more beneficial to Raychem. Restructured alliances into “win-win” agreements. Eliminated majority of operational issues to drive market share increase.

Stimulated partnerships with Nexus Asia clients, including Indonesian government, and major US corporations. A client, Indonesian think tank Nexus Asia, sought more investment opportunities for American companies and its regional partners. Created strong business case, identifying alliance opportunities with Pacific Rim governments seeking US partners. Connected with US real estate firms to devise environmentally sensitive development strategies for Indonesian properties totaling $2.8B. Positioned US firms as key players in inter-island telecom infrastructure development project.

Captured new market opportunity, positioning Grubb & Ellis Commercial as a “player” in hospitality industry. National firm had never been active in the potentially lucrative hospitality/resort sector. Identified unique situation in which a major developer had over extended itself by taking on a $40M Westin Hotel project in Ft. Lauderdale. Quickly positioned G&E as lead broker, utilizing company’s extensive global alliance network to produce the necessary funding. Re-calculated all financials and devised strategy to effectively market the property, making millions of dollars for G&E.
